Rebecca Vasquez, Attorney at Law
Rebecca lives by the guiding principle of “act justly, love mercy, walk humbly” (Micah 6:8)—a philosophy that shines through in both her legal practice and her community involvement. With compassion, integrity, and respect, she treats every client with the personal attention they deserve.
A licensed attorney for over 15 years, Rebecca understands the dedication it takes to turn dreams into reality. While working full-time and raising a family, she pursued her law degree with fierce determination—a journey that reflects the perseverance she now brings to every client matter.
In addition to her immigration and human rights work, Rebecca serves as a Senior Regulatory Analyst at RegEd, where she provides legal research and consulting on state and federal developments impacting the healthcare and insurance sectors. She advises internal teams and stakeholders on regulatory changes, drafts business requirements and policy updates, and works cross-functionally to ensure compliance with emerging laws. Her ability to translate complex regulations into practical solutions makes her a trusted resource in highly regulated industries.
Rebecca’s passion for justice took root in law school, where she became deeply involved in human rights advocacy. She traveled multiple times to Manto, Honduras for mission work, served on SMU’s Human Rights Committee, and participated in a delegation to South Africa to study post-Apartheid reconciliation efforts.
That commitment continues today. Rebecca recently earned an LLM (Master of Laws) in Human Rights from the University of London and regularly lobbies lawmakers—both locally and in Washington, D.C.—to support international human rights initiatives. Beyond immigration, she is an advocate against domestic violence, human trafficking, and industrial animal agriculture.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys traveling, exploring other cultures, and spending quality time with her family and backyard chickens.
