Immigration Lawyer Rebecca Vasquez
Rebecca lives her life by the philosophy “act justly, love mercy, walk humbly” (Micah 6:8). This is reflected in her community involvement and commitment to protecting the rights of others. She treats each client with compassion, respect and the attention they deserve.
Rebecca has been a licensed attorney for more than 15 years and understands what it means to work hard to make your dreams a reality. While working full-time and raising a family, she pursued her dream of becoming an attorney with fierce determination.
During her law school years, Rebecca became heavily involved in the promotion of human rights. She traveled to Manto, Honduras on numerous occasions for mission work. She served on SMU’s Human Rights Committee and traveled to Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa with faculty, students and community members to witness reparation efforts since the end of Apartheid.
Rebecca’s passion for human rights persists. She is pursuing her LLM (Masters in Law) in Human Rights from the University of London and lobbies our representatives locally and in Washington, D.C. to support international human rights initiatives. Besides advocating for immigrant rights, Rebecca campaigns against domestic violence, child abuse and human trafficking. In her free time, Rebecca loves spending time with her family, traveling and learning about other cultures.
